Panthers goalie Tomas Vokoun now is back to South Florida with the team several days ago after being taken to a hospital because of an injured ear after being hit by a teammate's stick. After Ilya Kovalchuk scored at the first period, defenseman Keith Ballard swung his stick to the goal post.
At that time Vokoun lay on the ice for about eight minutes before being carried off the ice. Vokoun was taken to the hospital accompanied by Steve Dischiavi, the Panthers assistant athletic trainer and physical therapist.
