Kip Wells applies for free agency

The Reds pitcher Kip Wells, formally applied for free agency last week. Wells played in 33 games with the team in the reds jersey and Nationals in 2009. Nationals released Wells on July 6 and he was signed to a Minor League deal the next day by Cincinnati Reds.

Wells went 2-3 in 10 games, including seven starts. Perhaps Wells could be offered arbitration or sign elsewhere, he is not rated for the Reds. Three players filed for free agency on Monday and 168 players have filed for it in total.
