Vice president and general manager George McPhee announced the signing on Tuesday that the Washington Capitals have signed center Cody Eakin (in capitals jersey), the third-round pick in the 2009 Entry Draft to a three-year entry-level contract.
Eakin, who is in his fourth season with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League, has 9 goals and 3 assists for 12 points in nine games this season. Eakin had 24 goals and 24 assists for 48 points in 54 games for the Broncos last season. He participated in the Capitals’ development camp this summer as well as the team’s training camp in September.
