Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been named one of AskMen.com's "Top 49 Most Influential Men of 2009." Readers of AskMen.com ranked Crosby No.34 on the list of men who had influenced them the most throughout 2009. Crosby and the Penguins captured the 2009 Stanley Cup Championship in a seven-game series against the Detroit Red Wings. Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final was the most-watched NHL game in 36 years.
The list also includes a diversity of collection of men from all over the world and from a variety of industries including entertainment, politics, technology, and sports. Other notables on the list include U.S. President Barack Obama, rapper Jay-Z, actors Brad Pitt and George Clooney, and Los Angeles Lakers captain Kobe Bryant.
